The Department of Islamic Faith is devoted to the study of Aqeedah, the core beliefs that form the foundation of a Muslim’s understanding of Islam. This department is a center of knowledge and reflection, guiding students to explore the principles of faith, including belief in Allah, His attributes, Prophethood, the unseen, and the Hereafter.

An Entrance to the study of islamic doctrine

This subject provides an introduction to the foundational beliefs of Islam, known as Aqeedah. Students explore the core principles of faith, such as belief in Allah, His divine attributes, Prophethood, the angels, the scriptures, the Day of Judgment, and divine decree (Qadr).

The course highlights the importance of a sound understanding of Islamic doctrine in shaping a Muslim’s worldview and guiding their actions. By addressing key concepts and common questions, this subject lays the groundwork for deeper studies in Islamic theology, fostering both clarity and confidence in one’s faith.

This subject examines the concept of polytheism (Shirk) from an Islamic perspective, highlighting its definitions, forms, and grave consequences. Students learn how Shirk contrasts with Tawheed, the oneness of Allah, and why it is considered the greatest sin in Islam.

The course explores historical examples of polytheistic practices, their roots, and their impact on societies. It also provides guidance on recognizing subtle forms of Shirk and protecting oneself from them. Through this study, students gain a deeper understanding of Tawheed’s central role in Islam and the importance of maintaining sincere devotion to Allah alone.

This subject is the first step into understanding the foundational beliefs of Islam, focusing on the core aspects of Aqeedah (Islamic doctrine). Students begin by exploring the belief in Allah, His oneness (Tawheed), and His divine attributes.

The course also introduces the concept of Prophethood, including the lives and missions of key Prophets, culminating in the final message brought by Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. Students gain clarity on the unseen matters of faith, such as belief in angels, the revealed scriptures, and the Day of Judgment, laying a solid foundation for further exploration of Islamic theology.

This subject builds upon the foundational concepts introduced in Part 1, diving deeper into the principles of Islamic belief. Students explore the belief in divine decree (Qadr) and how it shapes a Muslim’s understanding of fate and free will.

The course also covers the significance of belief in the Hereafter, including the details of resurrection, judgment, paradise, and hell. Students are guided to reflect on the implications of these beliefs in their daily lives and spiritual practices. By the end of this part, students develop a more profound understanding of how these core beliefs of Islam interconnect to form a complete and coherent system of faith.

This subject takes a more in-depth look at advanced topics in Islamic Aqeedah, addressing contemporary issues and misconceptions about Islamic beliefs. Students delve into the finer details of Allah’s names and attributes (Asma wa Sifat) and their relevance in nurturing a strong connection with Allah.

The course also explores the concept of intercession (Shafa’ah), signs of the Day of Judgment, and the trials and tribulations that precede it. Students are encouraged to critically analyze modern challenges to Islamic faith while strengthening their understanding and conviction. This final part equips learners with a well-rounded grasp of Aqeedah, fostering intellectual confidence and spiritual growth.
